Hi. I’m new here. I’m 3 weeks old now, and I got my belly button yesterday. My parents think I’m very advanced and that I’m growing up fast. They also tell me that I’m cute. A lot.
Before I continue, I guess I should tell you a bit more about me. My Mommy found out about me when she was visiting some of her college friends. They threw me a little party with a funny little stick that said she was pregnant. Then, they sang karaoke until the wee hours of the morning.
I grew and grew, and my Mommy thought my kicks inside of her felt weird and funny.
Before I arrived, I was in here:
That’s my Mommy. She’s actually in labor in that picture. My Daddy thinks labor started early because she and my Oma Baer went to Costco and ate a Costco hot dog. They took this picture before they went to the hospital. I think it’s a good idea that she ate something because once she got to the hospital, all they’d give her to eat was runny jell-o and ice chips.
I wasn’t so sure I wanted to come out of my womb-room. It was nice and toasty and comfy in there. So I took my time. My Mommy was pooped, so it’s a good thing she made a fun music mix for herself to listen to during labor. I was almost born to the song “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson, but it skipped ahead to “I Have Confidence” from the Sound of Music. My Mommy and Daddy needed some confidence when I was born, because I decided I needed help breathing in this new, strange world. It’s okay though. I may be little, but I’m a tough guy. The NICU nurses took really good care of me, and even gave me sugar water as a treat. I was born on January 28th at 11:30am, weighing in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 21 inches long. I also have large feet, which my Daddy says will be good for bike riding… but my Mommy just likes to kiss them a lot.
Some of my relatives tell me that “you ain’t much if you ain’t Dutch.” It’s a good thing I’m half Dutch, right? My Mommy and Daddy like to dress me up in Dutch orange. But I’d like it a lot more if you came and visited me soon!!
